Thanksgiving

Like most people, when I woke up this morning I felt blessed and happy. My morning started early... VERY early. About 3 am early. No, I wasn't on a mission to win a cooking competition; it was just one of those nights when you wake up and can't go back to sleep. So I did what I love- I read. A wee bit later I crawled back into bed to a snugly 14 month old who conned her daddy out of her crib. Add a 3 year old around 7:30 am and the morning was off to a great start. Fast forward to now and I am serenaded by my loving, wonderful, amazingly funny husband playing the piano and singing to me. My heart feels like it will explode from all the joy that I feel. I am excited to cook for my family, to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, flag football at the park, and trying a few new healthy recipes.
I'm embracing my role as mother, wife, and tradition maker. I secretly smile and wonder what will be my girls favorite memories from the holiday. I rejoice in the experiences we will share over the years around this special day. I dream ahead to the day they have families and their homes are overflowing with laughter and love.

Happy Thanksgiving
